Easily Make Changes.  Spreadsheets and In-house systems can be very difficult to use.  Even the simplest system changes may require a programmer or spreadsheet guru.  Making changes to spreadsheet calculations or in-house systems can introduce bigger problems than you are trying to solve.  You are never 100% sure if a spreadsheet is accurate.
